Important Guidelines

Do not force food

Eat and drink slowly

Chew well

Do not eat too much

End the meal as soon as hunger ceases

Do not eat foods that do not agree with you

Do not snack

No liquids with meals

Avoid red meats and chicken

No fruits with sugar

No candy

Avoid high caloric liquids

No alcohol

Take at least 1/2 hour for a relaxed, unhurried meal

Patients who experience premature cessation of weight loss are almost always either snacking on high caloric foods, or, are rushing through their meals, washing them down with liquids.
